The Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research organized the Live Seminar on IHL and the "Global War on Terror" as part of a series of interactive webcast discussions focusing on contemporary challenges to international humanitarian law.
This seminar addressed practical questions confronting humanitarian professionals working in today's conflict environments. Claude Bruderlein, Director of the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research at Harvard University, and Naz Modirzadeh, Senior Associate at HPCR, discussed the changing nature of armed conflict, the role and impact of transnational armed groups, and applicable legal frameworks.
During the Live Seminar, participants were able to send their questions and comments to the hosts and engage on these critical issues. This seminar is an integral part of the Online Course on Humanitarian Law and Policy, accessible via the IHL Forum. This Seminar is provided at no cost to professionals from the humanitarian community.
